Whether you are coming to church for the first time or have been a Christian for years, you are assured of a warm welcome at NCBC. Sometimes people don't know what to expect when they visit a church. Herte's some questions you may be asking:

What time should I arrive?

The morning service starts at 10.45am and the evening service at 6.30pm. If you arrive a bit early you will have a chance to settle in - but don't worry if you are a few minutes late - you will not be the only one!

What will happen when I arrive?

We always have someone on the door to welcome you. You can pick up a noticesheet and welcome booklet at this point. You can sit wherever you like in the church.

What should I wear?

Whatever you feel comfortable in. There is no need to dress up.

What happens during the service?

We normally start with a welcome from whoever is leading the service. Then we sing some songs - the words are projected onto a screen at the front. We usually have a time of prayer, bible reading and a talk of about 20 minutes.

What happens afterwards?

The morning service finishes about 12.15 and about 7.45 in the evening. Tea, coffee, squash and biscuits are served free of charge after both services. If you would like to be prayed for or talk to one of the ministers, there is an opportunity after the service.

Do I have to take part?

You don't have to do anything. You are welcome to join in all aspects of the services. If you prefer not to sing, that is fine. We take an offering during each service for the work of the church and other organisations. This offering is really for members and regular attenders so please don't feel compelled to give. Twice a month we take communion and this is explained at the time.

What about children?

After approximately 20 mins, children leave the morning service to join their Sunday school groups and there is also a creche for under 3s. Once a month there is a family service where we all stay together for the duration of the service.
